My name is Tommy Chu, I'm a UX Designer with a B.S in Visual Communications from San Francisco State University. I have 5 years of design experience working in the gaming industry. Through my journey in design, I've taken on multiple roles and have faced many new challenges. I've had the privilege to work with NBC Studios, Universal, and Bravo TV at my last job as a motion graphics artist, where I provided support for the product team in designing game trailers and developing first-time user experience videos for onboarding. As a UX designer, I have a demonstrated history in problem-solving, user-centered design, and prototyping.
Outside of design, I enjoy traveling to new places, experiencing new cultures and food. I am also passionate about photography, I find it very relaxing and fun to take photos of landscapes and people. The most rewarding part is seeing the result of a processed photo, sometimes it’s not what you would expect. A long-term hobby that I’ve been glued to for about 20 years would be reef aquariums.
My goal as a designer is to solve problems, work as a team, and create a successful product. I want to secure a challenging position that utilizes my years of experience while allowing me the opportunity to grow professionally.
I also want to continue improving my practice of providing and crafting user empathy that links the user and product in a meaningful way.
